Online BA:
Striving for excellence in all aspects of life
Flexible learning
Online studies fit the student’s life, not the other way around. With no location constraints, students can learn wherever life takes them, provided they have an internet connection.
Essential career skills
Success in online studies requires self-direction, initiative, and time management – invaluable skills in the professional world.
Optimising time
Without the need for commuting, students can dedicate more time to independent study and personal development.
HELBUS’s Online BA allows you to balance your degree with the rest of your life without compromise. Life doesn't have to be “either or” – it can be both.

Completing a degree while living your life
HELBUS’s Online BA offers an excellent opportunity to earn a degree while balancing other commitments such as a full-time job, entrepreneurship or athletic training. In other words, you can have your cake and eat it too! For example, online studies are an ideal option for professional athletes looking to improve their business acumen or prepare for a post-sports career. Online learning also provides a welcome break from intense training schedules.
The first two years of HELBUS’ and the University of Northampton’s BA degree can be completed entirely online. However, the third year (that is, the last 6 months of the degree programme) requires in-person, on-site attendance. The remote programme lasts three calendar years – a short time considering you can simultaneously manage work, training camps, or other personal pursuits on the side.
Life is full of passions. Let your studies be one of them.
Studying remotely
In the HELBUS online programme, students earn their BA in three calendar years. The curriculum includes weekly virtual meetings, pre-recorded lectures, and independent study on an online learning platform. While your studies will keep you busy, the schedule is flexible.
As mentioned above, the last six months of the degree require intensive in-person, on-site attendance. If the pace feels too intense, you can discuss alternative study options with HELBUS staff.
Online learning is best suited for those who enjoy independent studies and want to, for example, pursue a career while studying. The Online BA programme starts every September.

Parents, here’s why the remote programme is a great option for a student
The Remote BA is designed for independent learners who value flexibility.
Many students choose the remote programme because it allows them to study efficiently without rigidly scheduled lectures and group activities. It leaves time for other goals in life, such as entrepreneurship, career advancement, athletics, or other passions.
Since studies are not dependent on a specific time or location, students can save money by living at home instead of relocating for school. They can also work full-time while applying what they’ve learned to real-world situations at work.
The Remote BA is just as international and practical as the on-site programme. Professors are experienced in online teaching, and courses reflect the real-life business challenges students will likely face in the future.
Students are selected based on a motivation letter and an interview, with admissions decisions typically made within two weeks. The academic quality of the BA programme is overseen by the University of Northampton and Pearson. BA graduates can also continue their studies inHELBUS’ MBA programme.
Why limit yourself to just one goal? Apply now to HELBUS’ Remote BA and start working towards a new dream.

FAQ
Can I complete the entire BA online?
The BA in Business consists of three academic years. The first two years can be completed fully online. The third year, however, requires in-person attendance due to the degree structure: the first two years cover the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business (120 ECTS), an internationally accredited qualification.
The University of Northampton awards the BA degree upon completion of the final year.
If you wish to complete your final year online, we can help you find a fully remote Year-3 top-up programme. (TÄHÄN LINKKI HAE BAMIIN).
How does online learning work? Can I study at my own pace?
The programme combines weekly virtual meetings with independent study. Every week an online group meeting is organised so that students can ask questions and discuss course topics with instructors. These usually take place on a weekday evening. Attendance is recommended but not mandatory.
Other course materials are available on the online learning platform and you can organise your own study routine for engaging with that content, at your own pace. While assignment deadlines are fixed, you can manage your weekly schedules flexibly. It is recommended to dedicate at least two hours per day—or about one full day per week—to independent study.
What kind of support do remote students receive?
Students receive support tailored to their needs, including weekly group sessions and one-on-one meetings with instructors. The instructors at HELBUS are approachable, easy-going, and friendly: HELBUS encourages regular communication with faculty and fellow students.
Can I study from abroad?
Kyllä, HELBUSin tarjoamia etäopintoja voi suorittaa ulkomailta. Yes you can! HELBUS’ online BA programme accommodates students worldwide, including those in different time zones, such as the US, Philippines, and Mexico. However, you should take it into account that weekly live sessions take place in the evening, Finnish time.
How does HELBUS foster community and networking in a remote setting?
Although online learning is ideal for independent students, HELBUS ensures you’re never alone.
Weekly virtual meetings and personal check-ins with faculty create a supportive learning environment where you can get to know your peers and instructors online. HELBUS employs professionals whose main task is to support and empower students during their studies.
If you seek a more traditional student experience and want to get to know other students face to face, consider the on-campus BA program. Learn more about on-site BA studies here.
Can I receive financial aid for online studies?
Finnish students can apply for Kela’s student benefits and loans provided they are otherwise eligible and attend HELBUS’ in-person, on-site orientation, organized a week before classes begin.
