Apply for an MBA or BA scholarship and start your studies at HELBUS in autumn 2025
HELBUS Helsinki School of Business in cooperation with the Helsinki Region Chamber of Commerce awards scholarships for studies in the Master of Business and Administration (MBA) or Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business and Management programmes starting in autumn 2025. The programme is organised by HELBUS and awarded by the University of Northampton (UoN) in the UK.
MBA scholarships
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme is a management degree designed for ambitious leaders, decision-makers, and other business professionals. The degree can be completed full-time in one calendar year, or part-time in two years. The studies deepen students' understanding of different aspects of organisations and business, further develop leadership skills and strengthen their ability to create and implement strategic change projects.
MBA scholarship amount
HELBUS awards scholarships of 50% or 75% of the programme's tuition fees (the total cost of the degree for the intake starting in September 2025 is €25,000 (including 25.5% VAT).
Scholarship application schedule
The deadline to apply for the scholarship for the MBA programme starting in September 2025 is 16.6. – 16.7.2025. Applicants will be informed of the selection in early August.
MBA scholarship application criteria
The scholarship is open to applicants who meet the application criteria of the MBA programme and who are self-financing part or all of their studies. For entrepreneurs and family businesses, we will also consider applications where the studies are financed by the company.
We are particularly interested in candidates from the following sectors and organisations:
- High-tech; e.g. in the fields of energy, biotechnology, transport and logistics, security of supply and digital service development in managerial, executive or expert positions
- Public sector: candidates in managerial or executive positions in public administrations and public service companies
- Sport sector: candidates working in management and leadership positions in NGOs, clubs, commercial organisations, etc.
- Self-employed persons and partners in family businesses without sectoral division
Please note that the scholarships are intended for EU citizens or people who do not need a resident permit for their studies.
MBA scholarship application process
To apply for a scholarship, submit an application for studies via the HELBUS application form.
Attach a one-page, free-form letter of motivation to your application, describing your goals for participating in the MBA programme and why you would be an ideal candidate. Include this letter with your diploma and transcripts as part of your application at the same stage of the application process. Please note that this a separate document and does not replace the personal statement.
BA scholarships for athletes
At HELBUS, students complete the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business and Management (BA) from the University of Northampton. The degree is taught in English and is worth 180 ECTS credits. The programme covers all key areas of business, with every unit designed to meet the needs of today’s business environment.
The programme can be completed either in two years through the on-site study mode or in three years through the online study mode..
On-site
On-site studies are well suited for those who want to fully engage in student life with all its activities, traditions, and quirks, and can commit to studying full-time to graduate quickly.
Classes are held on weekdays at the HELBUS campus in Töölö and students are required to attend. The intensive pace of study allows for graduation in just 24 months.
Online
Online studies are best suited for those who enjoy independent studies and have, for example, an active career in sports but wish to study on the side. They are also able to manage their own work independently and with a sense of purpose.
The curriculum includes weekly virtual meetings, pre-recorded lectures and independent study on our e-learning platform. During the final semester, some attendance for on-site classes at the HELBUS campus are required.
BA scholarship amount
HELBUS awards scholarships of 25%, 50% or 75% of the programme's tuition fees (the full tuition fee for the degree starting in September 2025 is €35,000 for the on-site study mode and €36,000 for the online study mode (including 25.5% VAT).

The application deadline for the BA programmes starting at the end of August 2025 is 16.6. – 16.7.2025. Applicants will be informed of the selection in early August.
BA scholarship application criteria and application process
To apply for a scholarship, you must meet the application criteria for the BA programme and either play sports professionally or be in the process of retiring from a sports career.
To apply for the scholarship, submit an application for studies via the HELBUS application form.
Attach a one-page, free-form scholarship application describing your sporting career and your goals for participating in the BA programme and why you would be an ideal scholarship recipient. Please include this letter with your diploma and transcripts as part of your application at the same stage of the application process. Please note that this a separate document and does not replace the personal statement.
