MBA (Master of Business Administration) and EMBA (Executive MBA) are postgraduate programs designed to enhance business and management skills. An MBA degree is generally equivalent to a master's degree and requires a suitable foundational education, such as a bachelor's degree. The programs focus on practical learning and understanding the business environment.

MBA applicants are typically expected to have 3-5 years of work experience and the degree takes approximately two years to complete. The Executive MBA is aimed at more experienced managers, who typically have 5-10 years of work experience in supervisory or management roles.

In Finland, an MBA degree can mean three different educational entities depending on where it is completed. Finnish universities' E/MBA programs are classified as continuing education. Some universities of applied sciences use the English term MBA for the higher AMK degree. Foreign universities, such as the University of Northampton, award the MBA degree as an official master's-level higher education degree.
