HELBUS Student core
The HELBUS student experience is enriched by the school’s very own student organization, HELBUS Student Core. Their mission is to uphold beloved student traditions while also creating new ones. For example, Student Core organises orientation and welcome events for new students and arranges the iconic dark blue student overalls.
Students have the freedom and opportunity to leave their mark on HELBUS traditions. Who knows? Maybe in ten years, future students will be taking part in an orientation activity that you came up with.
Student Core also strengthens HELBUS’ international and social atmosphere by participating in events with the broader student community – such as Otasuunnistus, a scavenger hunt with Aalto University students. May Day (Vappu) is celebrated in Kaivopuisto among a sea of student overalls, and appro events take students on a city-wide adventure completing different challenges. The packed student calendar also includes holiday parties, Halloween celebrations, and sports events.
Each fall, a new Student Core team is selected from the incoming students. Participation is entirely voluntary.
