International Applicants
Are you interested in studying business in Finland?
This page is for you if you are a non-EU citizen and need a residence permit for your studies. HELBUS is a private business school in Helsinki that offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in business and management in partnership with the University of Northampton in the UK.
Situation update
Unfortunately, we are currently unable to process any applications from non-EU citizens who require a student residence permit to any of our on-site study programmes.
If you are a non-EU citizen and you have a residence permit in Finland for the intended duration of your studies for other reasons, such as family ties, please follow the guidelines for EU applicants.
We are currently exploring new options to be able to offer our business programmes for applicants who need a residence permit for studies. If you would like us to send information about such opportunities in the future, please contact us by filling in this form.
One option currently available for those who require a residence permit is to study remotely. At HELBUS, it is possible to complete the first two academic years of the Bachelor’s programme online. The online programme covers the same content as the on-site programme, and also offers students the possibility to integrate one of the study units with their own work experience. All units are delivered and assessed by the same international faculty as in the on-site track. Students are assessed through regular assignments in every unit during the two-year study period.
The programme provides a blend of guided learning hours through weekly sessions held online on Thursday evenings and self-paced, independent learning via our virtual learning platform. We actively encourage a sense of community both within the online track and in connection with our on-site students.
Upon successful completion of these first two academic years, students are awarded the Pearson Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business, an internationally recognized UK awarding body. After earning the HND, students have the option to complete the third year either on-site or online through one of our partner universities’ programmes. The full Bachelor’s degree can be completed within three years through this flexible mode of study.
