Open position:
Experienced instructor for MBA course “People Development and Leadership” (HRMM093), September 2025–January 2026

Module overview:
This University of Northampton (UoN) module will enable learners to critically evaluate and develop strategic people development and leadership skills. Application of these skills will enable learners to understand individual/collective behavioural dynamics and its influence on organisational goals. Learners will have the opportunity to develop self-reflection through reflective practice and models of professional development.

The module is part of the University of Northampton MBA programme, delivered through a Transnational Education Agreement by HELBUS in Helsinki.

Responsibilities:

  • The instructor is expected to prepare, teach, and assess the module, in close collaboration with the UoN module leader and HELBUS programme leader. There is the possibility of co-teaching. 
  • The module’s content, description, learning outcomes, assessment criteria, and schedule are determined by UoN. Find out more about the workload, assessments, and course description of the module in this Module Specification document.
  • The position is part-time and fixed term.

Applicant requirements:

HELBUS requires the following:

  • Teaching experience directly related to the module content at the required level (postgraduate Master’s), especially in
    • strategic people development
    • global organisational strategy, design, and development
    • leading people to optimise performance
  • Master’s or preferably Ph.D. in business or related field
  • Excellent English skills.

Additionally, we greatly value the following (not required):

  • A formal teaching qualification
  • Sound experience in planning, delivering, and assessing courses and providing feedback to students
  • A teaching approach especially suited for mature students of middle or senior management level (such as the Harvard case methodology)
  • Interactive teaching methods and proactive approach to supporting students
  • Experience in the UK higher education sector
  • Practice experience in the relevant area
  • Structured approach with attention to detail.
